Boondi Laddu


Ingredients:
Besan-1 cup
Sugar-2 cups
Baking soda-1 pinch
Pinch of edible yellow colour
Cashew-1/2 cup
Kismis/raisins-1/4 cup
Ghee or refined oil-500ml
Elachi powder-2 sps
or Edible camphor(paccha kapoor)
Method:
  1. Take sugar in a pan.Add 4-5 sps of water.Make it thick syrup(keep max 5-8 min)on low flame.Switch off the flame and keep it aside.
  2. Take besan in a bowl add pinch of baking soda to it.Mix it like semi solid batter.
  3. Heat pan with oil or ghee.
  4. Take a bowl with small holes(sieve like).Put some of this batter in this bowl and let the drops of batter fall in the oil by stirring and pressing the besan mix with a spoon in the bowl.
  5. You will find besan mix falling like small balls in the oil,called boondi.Fry them(not deep fry-colour should not get changed).
  6. Now add boondi to sugar syrup prepared earlier.Mix it thoroughly.After cooling(10 min ) make round ladoos with your hand tightly.
  7. Boondi laddu ready.Tastes good and ideal for festive occasions.
