Bread kichidi

Bread kichidi:
Preparation time-15mins
Serves-2
Ingredients:
5 brown bread slices
1 big onion
1 medium sized tomato
1 sp mustard seeds
1 sp urad dal
2 garlic pods
5-7 curry leaves
1/2 cup corn
1/2 sp crushed red chilly
3 green chillies
3 spns sunflower oil
2 pinches salt
Preparation:
  1. Prefer seeded brown bread as it is high in fibre content than white/milk bread.Cut each slice into 6 pieces of approximately equal size and keep it aside.I like making kichdi with Linseeded bread as it gives a different flavor and excellent taste.
  2. Heat oil in a sauce pan and put mustard seeds.Wait till they splutter.
  3. Then add urad dal, green and red chillies, garlic and curry leaves.Fry them for a min.
  4. Now add finely chopped onion,chopped tomato.Fry for 2mins.
  5. Add loose corn to the pan and close the lid.On low flame wait for 2-3mins.
  6. Add 2 pinches of salt to the pan and put bread pieces in it.
  7. Mix it evenly till bread gets nicely mixed with onions and corn.
  8. Switch off the heat close the lid for a min.Tastes perfect when hot.
  9. I do this often,as my family makes faces for seeded bread sandwich and try taking out crusts.
  10. You too try this and enjoy a different kind of plate for your breakfast.
